Ole Smoky Masters of Moonshine Competition 2017 Terms & Conditions

ROUND 1;

WHO:

• Venues/Mixologists.

• An existing OSM account in each of the following States;

1. NSW

2. VIC

3. QLD

4. WA

WHAT:

• Mixologists will produce a cocktail, send video and specs via the Artisan Handcrafted Facebook page.

• Cocktails will be judged based on set criteria defined below;

- All cocktails will be based on Ole Smoky Blackberry Moonshine and Ole Smoky White Lightnin’.

WHEN:

• All entrants must upload video on the Artisan Handcrafted Facebook page by;

NSW: 21st April

VIC: 21st April

WA: 21st April

QLD: 21st April

OUTCOME:

• 4 Second Round Finalists (in each state) will be announced 2 days after their state round 1 deadline. All entrants must be available for the Second and Final round.

ROUND 1 JUDGING CRITERIA;

CRITERIA:

- Presentation 15%

- Easy to replicate 10%

- Creativity 40%

- Originality 35%

GUIDELINES:

• Bartenders must use both Ole Smoky Blackberry Moonshine and Ole Smoky White Lightnin’ but it’s up to them how much of each they use. It should total 45ml of alcohol per cocktail.

• Recipes can use a maximum of 5 additional common ingredients.

• Garnishes do not count as an ingredient.

• Other spirits can be used.

• Techniques should be easy to replicate.

RULES:

• Competitors must submit their final cocktail recipes by the deadline provided and be available for second and final rounds.

• Artisan Handcrafted Sales Director to chose 4 finalists in each state.

• Ole Smoky will assume ownership of all recipes submitted and will credit creator in any media or digital.

ROUND 2;

WHO:

• Four competing mixologists will be judged onsite in each State.

WHAT:

• Mixologists will re produce their first round cocktail.

• Cocktails will be judged by Artisan Handcrafted Sales Director, Georgie Wright and a special guest judge based on set criteria, defined below;

- Outcome of State winner will be announced on the night of the competition.

- Each State winner to receive $100 Visa Card (Bar Geek Voucher) and Ole Smoky gift pack.

- Outcome of National winner will be announced 24th April.

• At an existing OSM account in each of the following markets.

1. NSW

2. VIC- Leonard's House of Love

3. QLD

4. WA-Helvetica

WHEN:

• All second round finalists must be available on the below dates;

NSW: 26th April

VIC: 26th April at 2:30pm

WA: 24h April at 6pm

QLD: 1st May at 5pm

ROUND 2 JUDGING CRITERIA;

CRITERIA:

• Competing mixologists will be judged onsite based on the following criteria;

- Judges Vote 75%

(Taste 50% / Presentation 15% / Easy to Replicate 10%)

- Spectator Vote 25%

GUIDELINES:

• Bartenders must use both Ole Smoky Blackberry Moonshine and Ole Smoky White Lightnin’ but it’s up to them how much of each they use. It should total 45ml of alcohol per cocktail.

RULES:

• Competitors must be available for second and final round of competition.

• Competitors will have 6 minutes to prepare their cocktail to judges.

• Once the judges have been presented their cocktails, we will hand out pre batched samples of the cocktail for spectators to try on a first-come first-served basis.

• Ole Smoky Blackberry and Ole Smoky White Lightnin’ will be provided. All other ingredients, equipment, and glassware must be supplied by the competitor.

• Ole Smoky will assume ownership of all recipes submitted and will credit creator in any media or digital.

FINAL ROUND IN NEW ORLEANS AT TALES OF THE COCKTAIL FINAL:

WHO:

• One overall winner from Australia.

• The winner will receive a round trip flight from their capital city to New Orleans, four nights hotel stay in the USA. All food and beverage will be provided within reasonable cost limits for duration.

WHAT:

• Mixologists will compete onsite for the title of “Master of Moonshine”.

• Cocktails will be judged based on set criteria defined below;

- All cocktails will be based on Ole Smoky Blackberry and Ole Smoky White Lightnin’ and must be same cocktail the mixologist used in semi-final round.

- Each contestant will be set up at a station to prepare their cocktails. Guests will enter the Tasting Room and sample each cocktail before voting.

WHERE:

• Tales of the Cocktail, New Orleans, LA.

WHEN:

• Wednesday, July 19, 2017 , 3:00 PM-5:00 PM. and the Title of “Master of Moonshine”

GRAND PRIZE:

$5,000 US CASH and the title of “Master of Moonshine”.

 

FINAL ROUND JUDGING CRITERIA;

CRITERIA:

• Competing mixologists will be judged onsite based on the following criteria;

- Spectator Vote (100%).

GUIDELINES:

• Must be same cocktail used in semi-finals.

RULES:

• Competitors will prepare the same cocktail they originally submitted and prepared in the semi-finals, no variations.

• Competitors will have their cocktails pre-batched to hand out to all guests. They will each have a designated station in the Tasting Room, where they

will demonstrate how to prepare their cocktails for guests as they visit their station.

• Ole Smoky Blackberry, Ole Smoky White Lightnin’, ingredients, ice, and glassware will be provided. Equipment must be supplied by the competitor.

• Ole Smoky will assume ownership of all recipes submitted and will credit creator in any usage of the recipe by OSM.
